MOTs and Servicing

An MOT test is a way of making sure all cars, motorcycles and light goods vehicles over 3 years old are roadworthy and comply with requirements of the law. An MOT test is carried out annually and ensures the vehicle is properly maintained. It is worth noting that an MOT test certificate only applies to the condition of testable items at the time of the test and is not a guarantee of the general mechanical condition of the vehicle.

An old test certificate is not necessary to have your vehicle tested.

An MOT test can be booked up to 28 days prior to expiry.

If an MOT has expired and it has been overlooked, you can legally drive your car to the MOT testing

Station via the most direct route, providing an appointment has already been made.

Upon supplying proof to the MOT Testing Station you can obtain a replacement MOT certificate.

Your driving licence or the certificate number, or the cars unique vehicle registration certificate

Number are the necessary proof required.

It is possible to view an MOT vehicle inspection as long as you do not distract the tester, we do however have a customer waiting area where a selection of hot drinks are available from a vending machine.

It is a good idea to have your vehicle tested if you are having extensive repairs and/or servicing done. It can save you a lot of time and trouble to have both done at the same time and the price difference is minimal.
